History of the Universal Measurement System
- 1978
- The Universal Measurement System is created by Jeff Rand with some assistance from Doug Wilson.
- December 1978
- The first UMS compliant event is held as the system is used for time, distance and temperature during a camping trip.
- 1994
- Further work is undertaken by Mark Bollman--> with the intent of defining absolute standards and base units for three additional quantities, thus developing a complete measurement system. While the system has not been used frequently, it remains a topic of conversation.
